Music Ministry
Adult Schola
Open to anyone from high school age on up!
Choirs have existed in churches and temples for centuries. In the early days of the Jewish Temple, choirs and instruments were used to enhance the prayers of the congregation. Today, one cannot imagine a place of worship without music. Singing is the highest form of praise that can come to our lips.
How appropriate then, to have our Parish Choir assist us along with our cantors to bring this aspect of prayer to a deeper level by leading us in song. The Parish Choir affords the opportunity to be challenged and rewarded by studying the vast body of sacred music that is used to enhance our worship experience.
The St. Pius X Parish Choir leads the liturgical music at the 10:30am Sunday liturgy and at various Hold Days Throughout the year. Please consider using your voice for this ministry that is important aspect of our parish life.
Contact Mike Lantowski Email: Mikestro@ymail.com or come up to the choir loft after any Mass. Flexible scheduling accommodates today’s hectic pace and affords the opportunity for seasonal participation.

The History of our church is the holy women and men who have gone before us in faith. All those individuals who have carried on the traditions of our church, and have told and retold, for almost twenty centuries, the story of our salvation: the dying, rising and coming again of Jesus Christ!
The Present in our church is the gathering of believers who come together around the Lord’s Table to gather in worship and prayer, and carry on the traditions that make us Catholic Christians.
The Future of our church is the children who will continue these traditions. It is in just that spirit that we at St. Pius encourage the youth of our parish to become more involved and aware of what we do in our Sunday worship and beyond. Through participation in the Family mass and other liturgies, the youngest members of our parish learn to appreciate and participate in the celebration of the Eucharist.
In an effort to improve that participation, we are working towards increasing membership in our Cherub Choir (grades 1-3) and Schola Choir (grades 4-up) to lead the assembly in song at the Family Mass and other special liturgies and the annual Christmas Pageant. This will mean a commitment on the part of both parent and child. Rehearsals take place in the church for Cherubs on Thursdays from 4:00-4:30pm and Schola from 4:30-5:30pm.
Not only do the choristers participate in song, but they also make new friends, learn disciplines of music making and develop a closer foundation in ministry. We ask you to seriously consider our music program as part of your spiritual life here at Saint Pius. We are very fortunate to have such a blessed parish with so many resources. Our goal is to develop our music program to a high standard to enhance your worship experience and most of all, bring praise to our wonderful God from whom all blessings flow.
