The Reverend Samuel S. Kachuba, S.T.L.
Pastor
Father Sam was born and raised in Stratford, CT where he attended St. James and St. Mark parishes. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Trumbull in 2001 and entered St. John Fisher Seminary in Stamford. He studied philosophy at Fordham University in the Bronx (BA 2004), before continuing his seminary formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. There, he studied theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University (S.T.B. 2007, S.T.L. 2009). Fr. Sam was first assigned to St. Pius X Parish as a seminarian in the summer of 2006. After he was ordained a priest in 2008, he was again assigned to St. Pius for the summer, before returning to Rome to complete his studies.

Bishop Frank J. Caggiano appointed Pr. Sam administrator/pastor of St. Pius X in January 2015. Pr. Sam loves when people pray for him, enjoys playing music, is a huge fan of “Lord of the Rings,” and has a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. John Paul II, Bl. Teresa of Calcutta and Bl. Chiara Luce Badano.

The Reverend Brendan H. Blawie, S.T.L.
Parochial Vicar
Fr. Brendan was born and raised in Newtown, CT where he received all of his sacraments at St. Rose of Lima parish. He attended Newtown High School, graduated in 2010 and lettered in varsity football. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Troop 70.

Instead of commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, Fr. Brendan entered the seminary for the Diocese of Bridgeport. He completed his Pre-theological studies at St. John Fisher Seminary in Stamford, before being sent to the Pontifical North American College in Rome where he received a theology degree from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. In June of 2023, he finished a License of Sacred Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Dogmatics.
